Is Auth Mate free?

Yes. The free tier includes unlimited OTP accounts, QR code scanning, encrypted backup export, clock drift detection, and more — with no artificial limits on account count. Plus ($3.99) and Pro ($19.99) are optional one-time purchases that unlock premium themes and features. All purchases are permanent; no renewals needed.

Where is my data stored?

All data is stored locally in the iOS Keychain on your device. If you enable iCloud sync in Settings, data is synchronized across your devices via iCloud Keychain (end-to-end encrypted). We do not operate any servers and cannot access your data.

How do I import existing accounts?

Open the app, tap "Add Account", and choose "Scan QR Code". You can scan otpauth:// QR codes from other authenticators (like Google Authenticator), or use otpauth-migration:// for bulk migration.

What's the difference between Plus and Pro?

Plus ($3.99) unlocks 16 premium themes, AutoFill keyboard suggestions, and App Lock. Pro ($19.99) includes everything in Plus, plus iCloud Keychain sync, home screen widget, Face ID auto-unlock, and Siri & Shortcuts integration. You can start with Plus and upgrade to Pro later by paying the difference.

Is there a subscription?

No. Every purchase is a one-time payment for permanent access. We don't use subscriptions because 2FA users want an app that Just Works without worrying about recurring bills.
