All account information you add (service name, username, secret key) is stored locally on your device in the iOS Keychain by default.

Data Storage

All account information you add (service name, username, secret key) is stored locally on your device in the iOS Keychain by default.

This data: Is never uploaded to any server. If you enable iCloud sync in Settings, the data is synchronized across your devices via Apple's iCloud Keychain (end-to-end encrypted; Auth Mate cannot access the transport). Is permanently deleted when you uninstall the app.

What We Don't Collect

Account credentials (secret keys, usernames, service names). Device information or unique identifiers. No analytics or crash reporting SDKs. No third-party tracking, advertising, or attribution SDKs. No IDFA usage; no App Tracking Transparency prompt.

Camera & Biometrics

Camera: Requested only when you tap the "Scan QR Code" button to read otpauth:// QR codes. The video stream is discarded immediately after scanning; no images are saved.

Face ID / Touch ID: Used only when you enable the "Master Password + Biometrics" feature to verify your identity when unlocking the app. Verification is performed locally by iOS; Auth Mate does not receive any biometric data.

In-App Purchases

Premium themes and features are unlocked through App Store in-app purchases. Purchase records are maintained by Apple. Auth Mate only reads the "purchased or not" result (via StoreKit's Transaction); it cannot access your Apple ID or payment information.

Backup Export

The "Export Backup" feature generates a JSON file containing all your account seed codes. The file is saved to a location you choose (default is the iOS Files app) and is fully under your control. You may optionally set a password for the export (AES-GCM encryption). Auth Mate does not auto-backup, auto-upload, or share this file.

Children's Privacy

This app is intended for developers and security-conscious users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.

Policy Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will display an update notice within the app and update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
